Johnny Depp wants to bring back a character from his childhood by change the plot for which he remembers. In the upcoming film, The Lone Ranger Johnny wants to "reinvent" the relationship that Tonto has with the Lone Ranger.
Johnny told Entertainment Weekly about the film,
“I remember watching it as a kid…and going, ‘Why is the f-- Lone Ranger always telling Tonto what to do? I liked Tonto, even at that tender age, and knew that Tonto was getting the unpleasant end of the stick here. That’s stuck with me.”
“I started thinking about Tonto and what can be done in my own small way to try to – ‘eliminate’ isn’t possible – but reinvent the relationship," Depp says. He'd like to "attempt to take some of the ugliness thrown on the Native Americans, not only in 'The Lone Ranger,' but the way Indians were treated throughout history of cinema, and turn it on its head.”
Johnny has said that he has some Native American ancestry.
The film won't hit theaters till 2014.
What do you think? Should they change the plot in the film?
