Kim Cattrall star of the upcoming film Sex and the City 2 doesn't want to be called a Cougar. Really? What the hell does she want to be called? It only seems appropriate considering her whole Hollywood career has been focused on portraying such. Well, except for her role in the 80's flick Mannequin... but we'll forget that one.
Cattrall told Extra,
"I really take umbrage to the code 'cougar'," Cattrall says. "I think cougar has a negative connotation, and I don't see anything negative about Samantha [her 'SATC' character] and her sexuality, sensuality and choice."
"I don't think she stands or sits in bars waiting for young men to prey on," Cattrall adds. "And I think that's something that people who are uncomfortable with strong women have labeled her."
As for Cattrall herself being labeled the same, she really takes offense. "I was asked recently by a significant magazine for women over 40 to pose with a cougar, and I refused to do it because I felt it was insulting. They took away the cover because I refused to do so."
