Fashion inspiration doesn’t just come from the pages of glossy magazines, TV and online adverts filled with unknown models. In fact, when it comes to how to really wear fashion, we all look to celebrities as our guinea pigs and sources of inspiration. Although we may not be able to afford the same Chanel ball gown or vintage Yves Saint Laurent LDB we can try and emulate our favourite celebrity’s style and sass.
Here is some inspiration for celebration and occasion dresses from the most fashionable celebrities to grace red carpets, boutique launches and movie premiers. For a full range of affordable House of Fraser dresses for special occasions, visit their website.
Leigh Lezark is a woman that understands fashion. She doesn’t just put on any old dress, every detail of every item is planned and prepped. She knows what works and what doesn’t and she possess a strong and innate sense of personal style. She has been hailed as a fashion muse by fashion powerhouses such as American Vogue’s editor Anna Wintour, which means she definitely knows how to dress.
During Paris fashion week she was snapped wearing a metallic outfit that is an example of one of the season’s hottest trends. Metallic dresses are perfect party dresses and will definitely get you in the mood to celebrate. A bronze or gold colour is warm, whilst a silver hue is futuristic and edgy.
Kimberley Walsh of Girl’s Aloud fame is generally upstaged by former band member and nation’s sweetheart Cheryl Cole, but just recently she got it spot on with her black lace ball gown. The plunging neckline was revealing to say the least, but this was balanced out by a full-length skirt. However, the real jewel in the crown was the lace top, complete with long sleeves.
Lace is a key look this winter. It slots in nicely in the 1940s trend as well as the glam-grunge styling that’s also being rocked on high streets and dance floors. Lace should be elegant; too much of it in the wrong places can bring down the look rather than amp it up. Do as Kimberley does and match a racy lace top with a sophisticated long skirt and keep jewellery to a minimum.
