Brittany Murphy's Husband Simon Monjack Found Dead, Strange Ending To A Sad Story

As much as Hollywood has some happen endings, it also has some strange ones -- Simon Monjack the husband of late actress Brittany Murphy was found dead on Sunday night.

As Popeater posted,

"The preliminary cause of death is natural causes," Sgt. Louie Lozano told the Associated Press. Another police spokesman, Sgt. Alex Ortiz, said, "We concluded there were no signs of foul play or any criminal activity involved."

This comes after Murphy was found dead on December 20, 2009 after a drug overdose on over the counter medication. Monjack

In an interview following the results on an autopsy,

"I took very good care of my wife ... She was on an antibiotic and she was taking cough medicine and doing all the right things."

After Murphy's death Monjack had tried to sell tickets to her memorial for her foundation. This drew much criticism. Very strange, very sad.

Brittany Murphy's Husband Wants To Charge Memorial Goers

We all know the City of Los Angeles footed the bill for Michael Jackson's memorial at Staples Center (which now the citizens want their money back.) Today we learn Brittany Murphy's husband wants to charge attendees at the memorial service for the late actress.

As Us reports,

On Thursday, Murphy's husband Simon Monjack is hosting a launch party to celebrate the Brittany Murphy Foundation, which is dedicated to arts education for children.

A source tells UsMagazine.com he is suggesting dollar amounts of $1,000 per individual and $10,000 from corporations to attend the event, which takes place at the Saban Theatre in Beverly Hills.

Something just doesn't seem right about this - not for a memorial. Have an event after with full proceeds going to her foundation, but this -- this is just plain wrong.

Brittany Murphy's Husband Says Her Death "Was Not An Overdose"

Now that the autopsy of Brittany Murphy has been conducted and we await the final results of how the young 32 year-old actress died her husband Simon Monjack is speaking out.

As the New York Daily News reports,

"I'm confident it wasn't an overdose," he told The News. "She was not a drug addict."

He confirmed Tuesday that investigators found and took away a bevy of prescriptions - " but nothing else" - and slammed speculation that the 32-year-old beauty was abusing illegal drugs.

"There's no question that's rubbish," said Monjack, a British photographer and screenwriter who married the "Clueless" star in 2007.

Murphy was ill before her collapse Sunday - she had laryngitis and also suffered from a heart murmur - but she didn't ingest anything dangerous, he said.

"My wife did not take anything on the morning of her death that would have caused her to be sick or ill, let alone die. It's beyond even the sickest speculation," he told the Daily News.

Final results of the autopsy will be released in about six weeks.
