Demi Lovato opens up in the August issue of Self magazine to clear the air of some misconceptions about her rehab and the news that she cuts herself.

"There were times I felt so anxious, almost like I was crawling out of my skin – that if I didn't do something physical to match the way I felt inside, I would explode."

"I cut myself to take my mind off that. I just didn’t care what happened. I had no fear."

On her eating disorder:

"I make time for myself and meditate," she says. "I've spent the past two years getting over an eating disorder and issues like self-harming and bipolar disorder. I have to work on this stuff every day. I'm reminded of that whenever I eat or feel down."

Don't expect to see her anytime soon talking or texting on her cell phone, she decided to give it up.

"I haven't used my cell in three months!" says Lovato. "Subconsciously, it was a crutch. When a room gets quiet, what do you do? Grab your phone! Now I can sit and have conversations with people."

Demi Lovato opens up to Cosmopolitan magazine for their July issue about what she wants out of a relationship.

"I don't have many deal breakers. I've done so much in my life, it doesn't feel right to judge other people, oh, I know one quality I won't tolerate: I would never be with a guy who is controlling."

She's single right now but wants to be married with kids in ten years.

"I want to be married with kids in 10 years."

She has previously been romantically linked to Wilmer Valderrama and Joe Jonas.
