Salma Hayek is everything anyone would ever want in a classy Hollywood actress, but when it came time for her latest comments in an interview with Germany's Vogue magazine, her fans (especially Hispanic) aren't enjoying what she said about her roots.
In the interview Salma said of character as a ruthless Mexican drug cartel queen in the Oliver Stone movie Savages:
"I am proud to have been involved in this film with all these great actors, honestly, I hardly had any memories of what it is to be Mexican. My life is completely different now."
This caused outcry from the Hispanic community where one blogger Guanabee, wrote:
"What did Salma mean by basically saying she forgot what it's like to be a Mexican woman? That she's too French and rich for our blood?"
Do you think the comment was made as a dig to her Hispanic roots? Was it just a gaff?
