It has come to my attention (via People Magazine) that Stacy Keibler has let George Clooney go. ”Stacy called it quits. She wants to have children and a family someday. She knows where George stands on that,” a source close to the couple tells PEOPLE exclusively. “They talked and they quietly stopped being a couple several weeks ago.” The source also says Clooney, 52, and Keibler, 33, will remain on good terms: “They talk every day. They were friends before they started dating and they’ll be friends after. It was a friendly [breakup].”

Clooney let her say that it was her choice. A kind gesture on his part. But my guess is that he probably just stopped taking her calls and texts. She was getting fewer invitations to the house on Lake Cuomo. But if she did break it off I am trying to imagine what a break up letter to George Clooney would look like.

Dear George,

What can I say? Thank you so much for the last two years. Seems like yesterday I was hanging out ringside with my buddies from the World Wrestling Federation. But you took this girl from Dancing with the Stars to the Oscars and the SAG Awards and the Golden Globes and made her a red carpet trophy. I got to watch you play basketball with the President. I got access to stylists and makeup artists. I flew on private jets. Suddenly I was on the Best Dressed List and Giuliana Rancic was forced to acknowledge I exist. Now I am hosting my own show called Supermarket Superstar on a cable channel I can’t seem to remember. Thank you, George. But I can’t say I am going to miss having to listen to another conversation about Sudan or how much you hate that guy Newton Gingwatch (or is it Newt Gingrich?).. I am sort of thrilled I don’t have to pretend I am interested in anything Cindy Crawford has to say. To be honest, I kind of think Angelina is psycho and that Jennifer Garner is a snooze. I know we didn’t make out much. I am hoping you can finally get your back fixed. I know I am keeping my fingers crossed that my old boyfriend wants to convert those dirty texts into some real action. I am going to take all the money I made the last two years at nightclub appearances and the cash I made from all freebies you were sent and put it towards a down payment on a condo.

Hope this isn’t the last of us. I’d love to bring my husband and future kids to see you. That is if the next series of trophy ladies are comfortable with it. Actually, whom am I kidding? Like they have a choice. Sorry. I just choked on my water.

Stacy Keibler didn’t know if she would be invited to this year’s Oscar. She had been stressing about it for weeks. There has been enough chatter about George Clooney growing bored with her that it was starting to show. Her Instagram finally noted a ticket days before. In fact if you look at her Instagram you would have no idea she was dating Clooney at all. The only time she has ever been able to take a photo with him was on Oscar night, and that was only his feet. She is not allowed to tweet anything related to him at all. She had to turn down an opportunity for Dancing with the Stars All-Stars (which would have come with a nice paycheck) because it was not worthy of something on his arm.


While on paper it would seem to be a great proposition, becoming the girlfriend/companion of one of the world’s most famous actors. You get access to all the casting agents, directors, and producers who can help you achieve the successful career you’ve worked so hard to achieve. The fact that you are able to walk on the arm of one of the most photographed stars of our time gets you the tabloid coverage you have always sought. In moments you go from begging to loan a free dress to getting calls from the world’s most important clothing designers, jewelers, and a fleet of expert hair and makeup artists. Most of all you get to tour the world in private jets, stay in ritzy hotels, meet world leaders, and spend vacations in an Italian villa.

But what if all that came with a price? This meant agreeing to stand behind – far behind – the star at all times. This meant only being allowed to nod your head and smile in public. Never being allowed to voice an opinion. Having to spend time with only his friends. Always having to be incredibly cautious about what you say, bound by a confidentiality agreement. But most of all not knowing when it would all end. Hanging on every event invitation as a sign it won’t all end soon or the possibility that you might be different than the ones that have come before you. Agreeing privately and publicly that you never thought about getting married or having a family of your own, that it just wasn’t a priority though you were inching towards 40.

You could say the same about marrying into royalty. Was Princess Diana’s life ideal? She had extreme privilege but her life was not her own.

Would you be able to hold on for two years plus knowing people just look at you like an accessory? What if for all your work you were let go and the only thing you had was a check and the opportunity to host Supermarket Wars?

I don’t think I could do it. I wouldn’t be able to keep my mouth shut. I wouldn’t want to be sort of forced to make out with Cindy Crawford. I would want at some point to make out regularly with the guy I am dating. I would have little tolerance having to sit across the table from Brad Pitt and pretend we were having an intellectual conversation. I couldn’t agree to having two dresser drawers in a place that was not my own.

Dear Kate,

I am having a rough week. My boyfriend hasn’t texted me and I haven’t received a call from his assistant, publicist, manager, or attorney in almost 6 days. Do you think he’s going to call it off?

We’ve been together since my publicist contacted his team to say that I was looking for a career boost and would be available to travel to Italy and the Toronto Film Festival at a moments notice. We clicked right away despite not having much in common. He likes to talk about guerilla conflict in Sudan and the differing economic policies of the American Presidential candidates. I like to talk about shimmery body lotion and Pilates. But I like to dress up and meet fancy people. There were a couple of times when he had his manager tell me to “tone it down” when I’d say the wrong thing on Twitter or to Angelina Jolie. But for the most part things had been pretty smooth. He introduced me to his diplomat friends. I introduced him to my professional wrestling friends. We hosted friends in Italy. He invited Matt Damon. I invited Channing Tatum. We even co-hosted a dinner for President Obama in California, though I am not even sure I am registered to vote.

I just don’t want this to end. I’ve got a big meeting next month with the people over at the OWN Network. What should I do?

Dear Stacy,

Listen, girl. It sounds like he’s going to call it off soon. If you suddenly have a large amount of cash deposited into your checking account or a real estate agent is calling you to show you rental properties chances are things are going south. Look at the timeline of the other girlfriends. He usually calls it off between the one and two year mark and always after awards season. If he’s over 50, has no kids, and likes to spend a ton of time with his dude friends then chances are he won’t be asking you to be anything permanent. So let’s start planning your next move.

The sitcom opportunities are pretty dry. Hosting gigs are fine, but hard to find one that does not involve someone puking, crying over a breakup, or trying to sell a weird invention. Stick to what you know. You’re a fit girl. You’ve done the Dancing with the Stars route. Why not start a chain of dancing aerobic joints? Maybe host Dancing with the Kind of Stars Canada? Have someone ghost write a “fictional account” of what it is really like to be the trophy lady of a movie star.

So what if he dumps you? Isn’t it time you had some fun? When was the last time you went out clubbing? Aren’t you just a little sick and tired of hearing the same boring stories about the devastation in Sudan and the “hilarious” practical jokes that went down on the set of Ocean’s 11? Now you can find someone who doesn’t need to take Advil before taking a jog or enjoys staying up past 10.

It’s a new day, sister friend.
