The studio has greenlit a fourth movie in the franchise - despite doubt as to whether Matt Damon will reprise his role as the titular amnesiac spy, Variety.com reported.
Some moviegoers, however, will be placated by the re-hiring of Tony Gillroy, the writer behind all three "Bourne" films.
Damon has said publically he would not sign up for a fourth installment if Paul Greengrass, who directed the last two "Bourne" movies, was not on board.
