Snooki from Jersey Shore got a book deal. According to the Simon & Schuster statement, the book will "revolve around a girl looking for love on the boardwalk."
Have you ever seen that show? I am not sure she can even form full sentences.
Did you know Nicole Richie is an author too? She is currently on a publicity tour for her new book "Priceless". Here is a sneak peek courtesy of LaineyGossip:
“It felt incredibly loud and hot in the club. The pulsing bass lines could be physically felt in every pair of panties...”
Hang on... Here is more...
“Maybe we should go somewhere else,” she whispered, catching her breath as Jackson slipped his hands inside her shirt, pulling her close and undoing her shirt buttons with his teeth. Cool night air made her nipples harden as he pulled her shirt open, and then his warm mouth covered them, making her moan gently.
Did you know her first book "The Truth About Diamonds," was a New York Times bestseller? Who is buying this nonsense?
From her interview with USA Today:
Q: What’s your writing routine? Early in the morning? Late at night?
A: I wake up at 5:45 and the rest of the family gets up at 7, so I have an hour in the morning. And then I have time after 7 at night to write and calm down.
Q: Do you work with anyone?
A: No, I write all my own stories.
Q: What are you reading right now?
A: I wish I were reading something. Everyone tells me about a few books I should read, but I’m rereading Tuesdays with Morrie right now. It’s one of my favorites, and it’s comforting to read something I’ve already read.
Q: Who are your literary role models? Jackie Collins? Danielle Steel?
A: Danielle Steel has been a huge mentor of mine. I look up to her. I’m lucky just to have five minutes with her. She told me not to write a sequel. She told me writing takes time and I might not be in the same place in a few years.
Okay, let's break this down. She spends about an hour a day "writing". (Do Post-it notes count?) She "writes" her own stories. By "writing" does she mean she text messages a ghostwriter? When asked what she is currently reading she claims she is re-reading Tuesdays with Morrie. I don't think flipping through a book you can easily read in 45 minutes at the Barnes and Noble and has already been made into a TV movie counts. Couldn't she come up with a better lie? Someone needs to quiz her. Who is your favorite character, besides Morrie? The best part is that her literary role model is Danielle Steel.
She is her mentor, even though she has only spent five minutes with her. I can only imagine what Danielle Steel was thinking when the sidekick from "A Simple Life" asked her for some insight. Writing takes time and you might not be in the same place in a few years. Translation: You have to learn how to read first and by then your ghostwriter will probably have another gig.
