You might remember a younger Hayden Panettiere who starred in Heroes as cheerleader Clair Bennet, or maybe even before that in the daytime soaps One Life to Live and The Guiding Light. Now, the starlet is all grown-up and will star opposite Connie Britton in a new ABC drama titled, Nashville that premieres on Wednesday night.
Hayden talked to NY Daily News about her role as Juliette Barnes, a young ambitious country singer and her characters comparison to Taylor Swift.
“I’ve heard the Taylor Swift thing quite a bit,” Panettiere admits. “But aside from being around the same age and blond, not even height, I (think they’re) very different. Once you get to know Juliette a little bit better, you’ll see that.
“I think Taylor would disagree wholeheartedly as well. She’s much nicer than my character.”
And on growing up in real life:
“My parents instilled respect for other people,” she says. “So when I have to go against the grain and disrespect somebody so wholeheartedly, it’s new to me."
“Sometimes they’ll cut and I’ll be like, ‘I’m so sorry. You know I adore you. I respect you.’
“But it’s interesting — and it does make it fun.”
Which makes her and all-American sweetheart! How can you not love her?!
